On September 18, 20XX one Dr.Light a brilliant AI intelligence
expert in the field of robotics sealed away one of his last creations.
A robot with the ability to think, feel and make its own decisions.
Dr.Light was no romantic and well aware of what this meant should
the robot choose to disobey the first law of robotics. "A
robot must never harm a human being." X as we shall call
this creation was a truely visionary robot in more ways than one.
It is now the year 21XX, Dr.Cain, a noteworthy scientist of the
time discovered the capsule, and for the good of humanity copied
the robot within. These robots have gone beyond their basic components
to become something greater thant their parts alone. They are called
'Reploids'. Reploids, unlike the original have limits on their mental
capcities, for reasons of cost and public safety no reploid can
match the mental workings of the original. However, Dr.Cain was
also aware of the problems this could bring. Just like the original
the ability to make their own choices meant that any singular reploid
could oneday break the first rule. Dr.Cain created and developed
a unit of reploids to seek and destroy problematic reploids.
The 'Maverick'units as the rule breaking reploids were called were
promptly hunted down. However the seed's of distrust had been sown.
Humans and Reploids fear each other. But what caused so many reploids
to go maverick at one time? The virus is a mystery now even to its
carrier. |
